Weight Loss Update

Just like a Weight Watchers meeting, I'm here for my weekly weight loss progress report. This morning's official stats are the following:

Previous weight: 143
Current weight: 141.6

Pounds to go for 7%: 0.8

I suppose the 7% is moot now, but I still want to report because I'm sooo close!

I tried on some size 6 shorts at Target today and THEY FIT! They weren't even tight or anything! Wow! And I was brave and tried on a few swimsuits. It wasn't too painful, actually. (The lighting must be more flattering in my Target, KariAnn. Maybe you should try on swimsuits there!) But coming from where I came, I appreciate just being able to wear a size medium and have it fit. The main problem for me was that there wasn't enough support where I need it (thanks to having kids or maybe just age)--at the bust. Oh well. I'll continue the search. Where's a good place to get modest swimsuits that don't cost an arm and a leg? I will need one for Bear Lake, after all. And hey, maybe I'll even take my new bod and my kids swimming more often!

I am jealous-- you are doing so good! I started my period and just before that happened I got on the scale and was up 2 lbs overnight. I am not exaggerating I litterally got on the scale and weighed 2 entire pounds more than the day before for no apparent reason. I am still hanging out there now (its been a few days)--I'm hoping that as my period wanes so will the weight! I looked it up and it seems to be normal to gain temporarily. I can't believe how it happened overnight!
Anyway size 6 that is so great. I bet the swimsuits were lookin good. As for where to find modest cheap ones- you let me know if you find a place. All the swimsuits I ever see are expensive especially the modest ones. My best bets have always been places like Target, they have some modest ones usually- if not now they will get more as summer nears, mostly the tankinis are good. I am not quite ready for trying swimsuits on myself, but there is always the small shred of hope that this "temporary" weight gain will go down MORE than 2 pounds when all is said and done, but I doubt it considering some of my food choices lately!

THIS is why you're so darn amazing ~ your consistency! I'm green with envy this week (although it's a great month to be green).

As for swimsuits, Target disappointed me this year (as afore mentioned in my blog). Other places that are great are J.Crew (quality is great, clearances make it worth it), Old Navy (although now it seems the 2-piece epidemic has got them, too), TJ Maxx/Ross (these places are great for a unique suit, just be prepared to try on anything - you never know what will look good on you!), department stores (for the same reasons as TJ/Ross, but they have super clearances if you watch), and ~ a newly discovered place ~ Victoria's Secret (this is ESPECIALLY helpful for your bust issue, an area they pay particular attention!).

My philosophy on suits is: Quality lasts, make it worth it. I have one or two suits that are AWESOME quality and I can wear year after year with little or no wear. I also have a few fun suits that are lesser quality, but just something different. BUT, let's be real: I live in Florida and have a pool. I spend about 3 months every year in suits at least 3-5 times a week, if not every day (usually multiple times). Your swim suit exposure may be more limited in Utah, but the perfect belly-huggin', boob-plumpin', thigh slimmin' suit is a necessity!!! Be adventurous...explore...and when you find IT ~ buy it and don't look back (unless of course you are color-coordinating your beach tote and flops!).

Good luck...and may the LIGHT be with you.

Wow! You are doing great! A size 6! I wish I were there, but I'm not. I too started my period and am up a bit, not too happy with that, hopefully it goes back down. Good job! And good luck with the swimsuit, I need a new one too and haven't had much luck although I hate how all of them look on me.

You rock, Julie! I am so proud of you. I have been doing Phase 1 of South Beach again, for a week and a day, and I have lost 11 lbs! I kind of don't trust my scale, because I don't LOOK like I've lost 11 lbs.
Anyway, they are more expensive, but Lands End suits have all the quality (and support!), not to mention coverage. I still have three that I hope to fit back into. Their tankinis actually cover your belly. Something that those of us with extensive stretch marks appreciate.
I am holding on to my size 6 clothes in hopes of fitting them again, but I'm not brave enough to try yet! I actually wish I could afford liposuction to get rid of my extra skin, y'know? Not like hubby would ever allow it!
By the way, what is Jason doing in Utah? Where is he working now? Do they have any kids? That's really cool!
